I'm Jess and I am the face behind the knitting machine!
As a kid I was rarely without a crafting project, and in fact earned myself the nickname "nana Jess". I have always particually loved needlework and knitting. Fast forward to 2022 and as a married mum to two beautiful daughters I purchased my very first knitting machine (yes, just like the one your grandma had!). It has been my absolute joy since to figure this ancient device out and create some lovely merino items for you and your whanau to enjoy!
Merino
The main fiber I work with in my knitting is a high-quality crepe merino. There are many natural benefits to choosing merino knitwear - all year round!
- Merino wool helps regulate temperature, keeping your cool in summer and warm in winter.
- Merino is soft, breathable and naturally moisture-wicking (it can absorb moisture away from the skin, keeping you dry!).
- Merino wool is hygienic; resists odor and bacteria.
All of our knits are super soft to the touch, allergen-friendly and machine washable.
Cotton
For our knitted multi-purpose cloths, we use 100% organic cotton fibers.
Cotton has many natural qualities that make it perfect for our cloths! These cloths are useful as dishcloths, baby wipes, general purpose cleaning cloth etc.
- cotton is hypoallergenic making it a great option for those with sensitive skin.
- high water absorbency.
- abrasion resistant and washable.
- light weight.
- can withhold high temperatures without damaging the fibers.
